Warming up before drumming is very important, especially in hard, fast playing. These exercises can help you develop speed and power in your metal drumming.
Use the following steps when implementing the following patterns into your practice and warm-up sessions:
a) Repeat each exercise many times to a metronome. Start slowly and increase speed
as these get comfortable.
b) Change which foot leads.
c) Add quarter and eighth rides.
d) Experiment with different stickings on hands and feet.
